What happens during the study?

If you join the study you will receive at no cost:

  • Close monitoring of your condition
  • Direct access to doctors or nurses to answer questions and concerns
  • Study-related physical exams
  • Routine lab tests
  • Study medication or placebo (a substance that looks like the investigational drug but does not contain active ingredients)

Participants in the Belong study will be helping doctors develop treatments for people who have lupus with kidney involvement. As with all research studies, talk with your doctor about possible risks associated with participating in this study.

Participants can remain under the care of their current doctors and those who complete the study will be offered the opportunity to continue taking the investigational drug for an extended treatment period so long as they are responding and until the drug is commercially available.
